2024 Water Ballet Signups

May 6th, 6:30-7:30 PM

The Zoo Pavilion (1 Safari Place)

Fluid Movement presents “SPLASH GAMES: A WATER BALLET OF IMAGINARY SPORTS!”

We’re going for gold, silver, and bronze this summer! So ride, run, surf, serve, or pitch to this summer’s “Splash Games: A Water Ballet of Imaginary Sports,” a riff on the Olympic games happening this year but where every sport is a totally not real, made-up sport and we all get medals! So let’s light our opening ceremony torch, and let the games begin! We can’t wait to ski you there!

If you would like to swim in this year’s water ballet, then join us for sign ups. Sign ups will be held in-person on May 6th from 6:30 -7:30 PM at the Zoo Pavilion inside Druid Hill Park.

Fluid Movement proudly does not audition for our productions, but space to swim in scenes is LIMITED and spots are first-come, first-serve. We recommend being on time for sign ups as spots can fill quickly.

Land rehearsals will begin June 3rd or 4th and will be held twice weekly through July 18th at 5:30-7:30 PM. Then the week leading up to the first show, we will have a full day tech rehearsal on July 20th (typically 10 AM - 5 PM) and then 2-3 weeknight rehearsals the following Monday-Thursday (dates and times TBD).

Rehearsal pools and days are as follows
--Clifton - Mondays and Wednesdays
--Roosevelt - Tuesdays and Thursdays
--Riverside - Mondays and Thursdays
--Druid - Mondays and Wednesdays
All rehearsals will take place at 5:30-7:30 PM.

You are allowed to miss THREE rehearsals. If you need to miss more than three rehearsals, please do not sign up to participate this year. Attendance at Tech Day and all show days is required!

Show days are currently planned to be July 27 and 28 and August 3 and 4.

More information on rehearsal locations and days as well as showtimes and locations will come as soon as we can get this squared away with our fabulous friends at BCRP.

Swimmers are required to provide their own base costume (typically a swimsuit that costs around $30). Details on your base costume will be provided by your scene directors.

IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT ANYONE CONSIDERING SWIMMING IN THE WATER BALLET SHOULD READ OUR “Swimmer Expectations and Information” DOCUMENT PRIOR TO SIGNING-UP TO SWIM IN THE WATER BALLET. Additional information on Fluid Movement can be found on our brand new Frequently Asked Questions page.
