2023 Water Ballet Signups

May 1st, 6:30-7:30 PM

The Zoo Pavilion (1 Safari Place)

Fluid Movement presents “Sinkholes, Sewers, and Streams: A Water Infrastructure Ballet,” July and August 2023! We will be joining Miss Drizzle as she and some adorable Baltimore City “kids” journey through our city’s water infrastructure systems, meeting fantastical people, Baltimore legends, and learning about how Baltimore keeps the water running.

If you would like to swim in this year’s water ballet, then join us for signups. Signup will be held in-person on May 1st beginning at 6:30 PM at the Zoo Pavilion inside Druid Hill Park.

Fluid Movement proudly does not audition for our productions, but space to swim in scenes is LIMITED and spots are first-come, first-serve. We recommend being on time for signups as spots can fill quickly.

We are still waiting on confirmation on rehearsal details and the show pools from BCRP, so stay tuned for that! But for general reference, land rehearsals typically begin the first week of June and will be held twice weekly through July 20th. Then the week leading up to the first show, we will have a full day tech rehearsal (typically 11 AM - 5 PM) on the Saturday before the show (this year it will be July 22nd) and then 2-3 weeknight rehearsals the following Monday-Thursday.

The shows are planned to take place on July 29 and 30 and August 4, 5, and 6.

Attendance at tech day (July 22) and all shows is required, and then we ask that swimmers have no more than 3 rehearsal absences total.

Fluid Movement’s Juniors (kids aged 9-14) scene summer camp will be held on Monday through Friday, July 10th-21st from 11 AM – 12:30 PM at Roosevelt Pool. We will be sending out a signup form for the kids soon, but for now, mark your calendars!
