Open production roles

Land Actor

Want to act for Fluid Movement and over 2,400 people sitting around a pool this summer. Are you legit enough to have an acting resume and headshot? Send em our way! If you’re not, don’t worry about it at all! Just send us a video of you saying “Fluid Movement Rulez!” and any applicable experience you have. We’re very open to people that have never acted before, so get your feet wet on dry land by acting with Fluid Movement.

Acting for FM typically requires attendance at a handful of rehearsals (schedule TBD) as well as Tech Day (currently scheduled for July 20th) with show dates planned to happen on July 27th and 28th and August 3rd and 4th.

This position is unpaid/volunteer.

Prop Maker

Interested in making/sourcing props for the 2024 water ballet land actors. Specific props TBD.

This position will receive a $150 stipend.

Set Build Captain

Fluid Movement sets are super unique as we have to take down and put up our sets every show day and store them in small transportable PODS. We need someone willing to lead the charge on building and taking down our sets on Tech Day (July 20) and each show day (July 27 and 28 and August 3 and 4th). No experience with set design or building required!

This position will receive a stipend. Amount TBD.

Set Build Team

It takes a village, and by it, I mean, sets. Let us know if you want to help by joining set builds! Just send us your name, and we'll email you when set builds are scheduled. Set build team is unpaid/volunteer.

Stage Hand/Crew

All good stage managers need stage hands/crew! This is a great way to get the backstage experience of the water ballet and be a real champion of the show!

Would love for the stage handds/crew to attend some actor land rehearsals and a portion of Tech Day (currently scheduled for July 20th). Show dates are planned for July 27th and 28th and August 3rd and 4th.

This position is unpaid/volunteer.

Community Outreach

Want to help Fluid Movement reach new communities in Baltimore City? We’d love that too! Join our team to help us get new people swimming in the water ballet by attending community meetings where shows are taking place, distributing material about sign-ups to pools throughout the city, and hyping up Fluid Movement as an inclusive and welcoming space!

This position is envisioned as a team effort and as such is unpaid/volunteer; however, if you are interested in making this a more permanent role, let us know, and we will be happy to discuss a stipend for that! This position is great for someone already planning on swimming in the water ballet to take on.
