Fluid Movement presents “Sinkholes, Sewers, and Streams: A Water Infrastructure Ballet,” July and August 2023! We will be joining Miss Drizzle as she and some adorable Baltimore City “kids” journey through our city’s water infrastructure systems, meeting fantastical people, Baltimore legends, and learning about how Baltimore keeps the water running.
If you would like to swim in this year’s water ballet, then join us for signups. Signup will be held in-person on May 1st beginning at 6:30 PM at the Zoo Pavilion inside Druid Hill Park.
Fluid Movement proudly does not audition for our productions, but space to swim in scenes is LIMITED and spots are first-come, first-serve. We recommend being on time for signups as spots can fill quickly.
Land rehearsals will begin the first week of June and will be held twice weekly through July 20th at 5:30-7:30 PM. Then the week leading up to the first show, we will have a full day tech rehearsal on July 22nd (typically 11 AM - 5 PM) and then 2-3 weeknight rehearsals the following Monday-Thursday (dates and times TBD).
The shows are planned to take place on July 29 and 30 and August 5 and 6. Show pools will be Riverside Park Pool and Clifton Park Pool.
Attendance at tech day (July 22) and all shows is required, and then we ask that swimmers have no more than 3 rehearsal absences total.
Rehearsal pools and days are as follows
• Riverside Pool; Mondays & Wednesdays
• Druid Hill Park Pool; Mondays & Wednesdays
• Roosevelt Pool; Tuesdays & Thursdays
• Clifton Park Pool; Mondays & Wednesdays
All rehearsals will take place at 5:30-7:30 PM.
Swimmers are required to provide their own base costume (typically a swimsuit that costs around $30). Details on your base costume will be provided by your scene directors.
Additionally, Fluid Movement’s Juniors (kids aged 9-14) scene summer camp will be held on Monday through Friday, July 10th-21st from 11 AM – 12:30 PM at Roosevelt Pool. To have your child join us in the FM Junior scene, please fill out the information here: https://forms.gle/3zz3CtSbn5ku5Yur9
