SUBTITLE: Bring the Water Ballet Into Existence
Stipend: $1,500
Oversees the entire production. Business manager of production meaning they are in charge of the following:
The overall show budget
Fundraising
Setting venue locations, dates, and times (with board representative(s) as support)
Setting rehearsal locations, dates, and times (with board representative(s) as support)
Ticket prices
Marketing of show
Hiring and overseeing Stage Manager, Production Manager, and House Manager (unless House Manager is board-appointed)
End of show evaluation of Stage Manager, Production Manager, Marketing Director, and Water Ballet Director
Ultimately, the producer is a manager who ensures the production runs efficiently, stays within financial parameters, and meets its deadlines.
The expected timeline for this role runs from January to August, with an estimated commitment of 20-40 hours per month. Hours will be lighter from January to April, increasing in the May to August period.

SUBTITLE: Make Sure Everyone is Where They Should Be
Stipend: $1,000
Rehearsal schedule master, note taker, primary communication point for the entire cast. Big boss from Tech Day through shows. Oversees the following:
Fill out rehearsal reports for land actors
Backstage transitions and cues for all swimming scenes and land actor scenes from Tech Day through all performances
Communication to entire cast about Tech Day schedule, Tech Week rehearsals, and call times for all shows
Communicates necessary information to Assistant Stage Managers (ASMs) and Swimming Scene Directors
Compile ASMs’ weekly rehearsal reports for Production Meetings
Understanding prop set-up backstage and how do props get on and off stage
Runs Tech Day rehearsal and all tech week rehearsals (in collaboration with show director(s))
Gives feedback to all performers and backstage volunteers during all Tech rehearsals
Makes inclement weather decisions from Tech Day through all performances (utilizing board created inclement weather protocol)
Liaising with Front of House and back of house on when show starts
End of show evaluation of Assistant Stage Managers and Water Ballet Director
Ultimately, the SM is the primary point of contact for all operational questions and logistical concerns, ensuring that all departments are aligned and that the artistic and technical elements of the show come together seamlessly.
The expected timeline for this role runs from June to August, with an estimated commitment of 20-40 hours per month with increasing hours during Tech Week through the shows (July 19th through August 3rd).

SUBTITLE: #1 Hype Person for the Water Ballet
Stipend: $450
The Marketing Lead for a theatrical production is responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategy that drives awareness, builds excitement, and ultimately sells tickets for the show. Oversees the following:
Creating a strategic marketing plan, which includes identifying target demographics, setting objectives, and selecting appropriate marketing channels
Managing digital marketing, social media engagement, traditional advertising, and community outreach
Ensure that all messaging is consistent, compelling, and aligned with the production’s brand and narrative
Oversee content creation, including promotional materials such as posters, flyers, and digital asset
Manage the creation of social media campaigns, email newsletters, and any online advertising efforts,
Collaborate with designers, photographers, and videographers to produce high-quality visuals and multimedia content that captures the essence of the production
Essentially, the Marketing Lead works to build and engage a loyal audience through consistent and engaging content.
The expected timeline for this role runs from March to August, with an estimated commitment of 10-20 hours per month.

SUBTITLE: Sell Those Tickets and Take Care of Our Audience
Stipend: $450
Ruler over ticketing, check-in, and audience experience during show time. Oversees the following:
Box office (including comp tickets and community tickets (if applicable))
Audience check-in process for all ticket levels
Designating reserved and accessible seating options
Merchandise inventory and purchases
Security payment
Resolve all audience problems
Setup and tear down of Front of House
Communicate with Stage Manager about start of show
End of show evaluation of Box Office, Sponsorship Lead, FOH Lead
Essentially, the House Manager is the person taking care of our audience during show time.
The expected timeline for this role runs from May to August, with an estimated commitment of 10-20 hours per month with increasing hours during during Tech Week through the shows (July 19th through August 3rd).

SUBTITLE: Make Sure Everything is in Place for the Show Safely
Stipend: $450
Makes sure everything at the pools is safe and where it needs to be. Oversees the following:
Securing all seating elements for shows
Inventorying tents for set, backstage, and FOH and getting approval for purchases (if necessary)
Making sure set design and facilities are safe and ready for shows
Sets and oversees timelines for set department (with support from PM)
Coordinating volunteers for backstage Green Room for Tech Day through all performances
Appointing Safety Officers for Tech Day through all performances
Works with Stage Manager for load-in/load-out
Overseeing setting up of tents on show days
Assigning volunteers to specific breakdown roles on show days
End of show evaluation of Sound Designer, Set Designer, and Stage Manager
Essentially, the TD is in charge of ensuring that everything at the pools is ready to go for showtime in a safe way.
The expected timeline for this role runs from April to August, with an estimated commitment of 10-20 hours per month. Hours will be lighter from April to June, increasing in the July to August period.

SUBTITLE: Creative force behind our swiming scenes. 2+ per scene
Stipend Pool: $600 per adult scene; $500 for Junior scene; and $200 for finale
Controls artistic vision of a swimming scene (in collaboration with the Show Directors) and runs swimming rehearsals for that scene. Oversees the following
Developing swimming scene vision
Choose music with approval of the Show Directors
Scene choreography
Costume and prop visions (created in collaboration with Costume and Prop Designers)
Scene rehearsal content
Any scene meetups outside of rehearsals
Reinforce their assigned Assistant Stage Manager’s communication
Maintaining a good relationship with BCRP staff and community pool users
Enforcing attendance at rehearsals (with assistance from their assigned Assistant Stage Manager)
Responsible for minor fixes to scene props and costume elements throughout show run
End of show evaluation of their Assistant Stage Manager and Show Directors
Our swimming scene directors are the creative force behind their assigned scene and running rehearsals with our volunteer swimmers, making decisions that lead to our unique and captivating shows.
The expected timeline for this role runs from March to August, with an estimated commitment of 10-20 hours per month.

SUBTITLE: Create the Incredible Costumes for the Water Ballet
Stipend Pool (to be split amongst Costume Designers): $900
Primary people making costumes for the entire cast of the water ballet. We understand that this job is HUGE, and we are expecting this role to be split amongst 2-3 designers with loads of support from the Water Ballet cast and volunteers. Oversees the following:
Oversees the creation of costume elements for land actors and swimming performers (in collaboration with Water Ballet Director and Swimming Scene Directors)
Runs volunteer costuming meetings at HQ (envisioning 2 per week from June-July)
Manages entire costuming budget
Costume fitting for all performers
Attending bi-weekly production meetings
Costume designers will be the driving force for the creation of all of the sparkly, exuberant costumes that make a Water Ballet so magical.
The expected timeline for this role runs from May to July, with an estimated commitment of 10-20 hours per month.

SUBTITLE: Build a Spectacular Set for the Water Ballet
Stipend: $500
Primary point person for set builds for the water ballet. Oversees the following:
Oversees the creation of set elements for production (in collaboration with Water Ballet Director and Technical Director)
Runs volunteer set meetings at HQ (1-2 per week from June-July)
Manages entire set budget
Responsible for making sure set set-up and breakdown instructions are clear
Run set build training on Tech Day
Attending bi-weekly production meetings
Responsible for making minor repairs to the set as-needed during the show run
We understand that our sets are a unique challenge for a designer, but we have a framework that should make executing this role much more accessible than it has been in years past.
The expected timeline for this role runs from May to July, with an estimated commitment of 10-20 hours per month.

SUBTITLE: Create the Fun Props for the Water Ballet
Stipend: $300
Primary point person for prop creation for the entire water ballet. Oversees the following:
Oversees the creation of prop elements for land actors and swimming performers (in collaboration with Water Ballet Director and Swimming Scene Directors)
Runs volunteer prop meetings at HQ (1-2 per week from June-July)
Manages entire prop budget
Attending bi-weekly production meetings
The prop designer will be the driving force for the creation of all of the fun and whacky props that make a Water Ballet special.
The expected timeline for this role runs from May to July, with an estimated commitment of 10-20 hours per month.

SUBTITLE: Help Support Communication for Swimmers. 1 Per Swimming Scene
Stipend: $50 per scene
Expecting 1 ASM to be associated with each synchronized swimming scene. Each ASM is anticipated to be a swimmer within the scene.
The ASM is the primary communication point for swimming scene performers. Oversees the following
Communication to assigned scene’s performers
Makes inclement weather decisions for rehearsals (utilizing board created inclement weather protocol)
Communicating scene’s stage directions to Stage Manager
Maintaining scene attendance records and communicating attendance issues to their Swimming Scene Director(s)
Fill out weekly rehearsal reports for their scene
Working with Stage Manager and Scene Directors to understand where props live backstage and how they get on and off stage
Communicate with Stage Manager day of show that scene is ready
Ultimately, an ASM is the primary point of contact for swimmers, ensuring that all swimmers understand where they are expected to be and when.
The expected timeline for this role runs from June to July, with an estimated commitment of 2-4 hours per week.
