Dive Into Banned Books: A Water Ballet of Resistance and Joy
EVENT DETAILS
Wait! Water? Books? Isn’t that a rather soggy combination? Not this summer! Get ready for your summer reading program! We will be diving into “A is for Activist”, “Handmaid's Tale”, “And Tango Makes Three”, “Parable of the Sower”, and “Julian is a Mermaid”. Set in a library, we meet an upset parent, attempting to ban books left and right. Cue the helpful librarian to guide our inquisitive kids through our five banned books. Why are they banned? What can we do? Why should we read them? Check it out as we create an atmosphere of inclusion while exposing censorship and blazing into our finale of joyful resistance!

RAIN POLICY
When the weather is inclement, the first concern of Fluid Movement and Baltimore City Recs & Parks is that our performers and audience members are safe. In the case of lightning, thunder, and/or rain, pool managers and our producers will work together to decide whether a performance needs to be delayed or canceled. Because summer storms are unpredictable, often this decision will be made immediately before the start of the show.
Rain alone will usually NOT stop a show, but nearby lightning, thunder, or high winds might. If it's raining, bring a jacket because umbrellas can't be used during a performance.
If a show must be completely canceled, we will make every effort to honor your tickets at another performance with available seats. We will announce at that show (and later on Facebook and via email) what your options are.
Tickets are not refundable, so we will do our best to let you honor them at a future show. If you cannot attend a different performance, we hope you can recruit a friend or family member who can use your tickets to enjoy our show this summer.
CHILDREN POLICY
Fluid Movement loves families, and we want you all to be able to enjoy the show. Our policy regarding children is basically airplane rules. If your child is young enough to sit on your lap for the entire duration of the performance, they do NOT need to have their own ticket; however, if they need a seat, they need a ticket.
